7th Annual Kite Flying Frenzy! Bring your whole family and your kites! Members of the Richmond Air Force kite club will be on hand to
discuss the science behind kite flying, the history of kites, and,
weather permitting, they will be demonstrating some high-flying
kite tricks! |

FREE Kite making classes will be given throughout
the weekend, allowing you to build and decorate your own
Frustrationless Flyer kite (Kites provided courtesy of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce). Free
kite flying lessons will be given by our flyers. In addition,
we'll be "running the Bols" on Saturday and Sunday...an event NOT
to be missed! |

3rd Annual Atlantic Coast Kite Festival |
Virginia Beach,

Spectators, avid kite flyers, and novices of all ages are
invited to the 3rd Annual Atlantic Coast Kite Festival at the
Virginia Beach oceanfront on Saturday, April 7, 2007, from
10:00am-5:30pm. All activities will be held on the beach and in the
park at 17th Street.
Highlights include:
•Workshops for ages 6-14 on kite building and kite flying led by
Archie Stewart, of Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Stewart, utilizing
hands-on, interactive teaching, combines both the academics and
pleasures of kiting. He encourages students to “teambuild” as they
work together to create their own kites. Archie Stewart is a member
of the American Kitefliers Association (AKA) and, as a
sport kite competitor, won the ’99-’00 Eastern League Championship
in individual precision flight and pairs ballet. His workshops will
be open to a limited number of students.
•Kite demonstrations and activities presented by the Richmond Air Force kite club from Richmond,
Virginia. Demonstrations will be in dual line ballet and precision,
multi-line ballet and precision, multiple kite flying by one
person, and stacked kite flying. Expert kite fliers from the club
will be on hand to help novices learn the fundamentals of kite
flying.
•An open-fly area on the beach where participants of all ages may
fly their kites.
The Atlantic Coast Kite Festival is free and open to the public.
There is a nominal charge for participating in the kite building
workshop.
The Atlantic Coast Kite Festival, presented by The Oceanfront Inn,
is a sanctioned event of the American Kitefliers
Association.

Join us for a great weekend of kite flying on the beach while listening to some of the hottest national and local Blues bands! Summer isn't over YET and this is a great way to get another fix of your beach "habit" while the weather is still great! We'll be there, flying kites, doing demos, and selling kites of all styles and price ranges, so come on out and have some fun! We'll be on the beach, near 17th Street, from 10am until 6pm on Saturday and from 10am until 5pm on Sunday.

American Kitefliers Association Grand National Convention |

Join us at the annual convention of the American Kitefliers Association as the best kite fliers and builders in the world compete and have fun! A true gathering of fliers from across the country and around the world, these competitors will be exhibiting new kite styles, artistry and flying skills that are a must to see. All flying events, both outside and indoors, are open to the public. Saturday will be the grand finale, with demonstrations by the top competitors. There's plenty of room for everyone, so be sure to bring your kite and join us! The outdoor competitions will be held on-site at Boyd's Bear Country. iQuad Revolution Kite Clinic - East |

|
This clinic will offer specialized one-on-one instruction with members of iQuad. The clinic will be limited to 12 particpants, which will allow 4-6 hours direct coaching for each attendee over the course of the weekend, and lots of team flying during the last part of Sunday. Your registration will include unlimited access to the day/night fly, workshop sessions and instruction on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, as well as automatic entry into a prize drawing for one brand new B-Series Revolution Package which will be drawn and awarded to one of the participants on Saturday evening.
